Grief and love are sisters, woven together from the beginning. Their kinship reminds us that there is no love that does not contain loss and no loss that is not a reminder of the love we carry for what we once held close.
— Francis Weller, The Wild Edge of Sorrow

Grief affects everyone in different ways; you are never alone on your journey. Our bereavement program offers a variety of support to help anyone in the Kodiak community who is grieving the loss of a loved one. All services are always free. Please reach out if you or someone you know could benefit from grief support.

Support Before Death

Anticipatory Grief Services: Counseling services are available to individuals experiencing anticipatory grief leading up to a death of a family member who is an HPCK Client. Counseling is beneficial to be able to share experiences, gain coping tools, explore ways to assist their loved one and look at future planning needs.

Support following death

Counseling services are available to family members and caregivers following the death of an HPCK client. Grief affects the bereaved mentally, physically and emotionally.
